Unwillingly James prepares to spend the summer with his aunt in Norton, Nova Scotia. However, almost immediately his interest is piqued by the local archeological dig of a mastodon skeleton and the strange behaviour of two men near the Museum. When some of the bones disappear, James and his new friend Emily, find themselves involved in some dangerous sleuthing indeed.

I liked James because he is interested in most of the things that I like. What I liked about Emily is that she is cheerful almost of the time. |

| What I Liked | The part I liked about The Mastodon Mystery is when a boy named James and a girl named Emily found some men who had stolen a mastodon's tusks. Emily called her Dad. Then James said, "Why don't we keep on Iooking for them?" Emily said, "O.k." So they did. Then Emily's dad came and took them away. So that was the part I liked the best. |
